Mobile cameras are now more common than the regular digital cameras. Now, one of the giants in manufacturing digital cameras, the Samsung, has reportedly ditching out their production of the said device and will focus on mobile and VR cameras instead.

According to the report of Android Authority, an unnamed official of the Samsung Electronics told the newspaper that the company is no longer producing and selling digital cameras. Also, they indicate that the decision has already been implemented.

The news is still officially confirmed by the Samsung Electronics, however, to think that mobile cameras are slowly dominating the digital cameras, there is a great chance that this rumor is possibly true. Samsung's last digital camera released is the NX500 in 2015.

It is now common to the latest smartphones having a very high-quality mobile camera, in fact, the highest quality mobile camera, the 2013 Nokia Lumia 1020 has 41MP compared to the regular digital cameras, like Nikon DSLR and Samsung NX500, with an average of 20MP to 30MP only.

Despite its better portability and additional mobile purposes, mobile cameras are easier to use in unexpected moments. Although not all mobile cameras have the quality like the Nokia Lumia 1020 or even a more than 20MP quality, it still renders good quality outputs.

Speaking of Samsung, the Korean Electronics company recently introduced, along with the Samsung Galaxy S8, the new version of Samsung Gear 360. This camera is similar to its predecessors, but the performance and quality, this new version have a big advantage.

The new Samsung Gear 360 have two 8.4 MP CMOS sensors with fisheye lenses, ensuring that there are no gaps in coverage with 360 videos. It can achieve real 4K resolution and unlike the previous model, it can now shoot at that cinematic frame rate of 24 FPS.
