'13 Reasons Why' Season 2: Jay Asher Reveals Possible Plotlines In Rumored Sequel; Author Not Penning The Story

Fans are all set for "13 Reasons Why" season 2. Though there is no published sequel for the book version, the readers and even the viewers are looking forward to the possible renewal of Netflix' popular series. Now, Jay Asher revealed what are the possible storylines if the show will come back.

Given the fact that Asher's best seller book-turned-television series is branded as a unique story for millennials and one of Netflix' popular shows, fans are convinced that it could still be renewed. Though it has no printed sequel, "13 Reasons Why" season 2 could still take up the storylines featuring the characters in Hannah's (Katherine Langford) tapes. This idea comes from Asher himself.

As per his interview with Entertainment Weekly, Asher thinks that there is a future for "13 Reasons Why" season 2. He is indeed interested in continuing the story. He even revealed that revolves around the characters in the first season.

"I'd just like a continuation of all those characters ... What happens to Clay? How do people react to what Alex did at the very end? What's going to happen to Mr. Porter?" says Asher.

Though Asher admits not wanting to write it, he then revealed that he would love to see it instead. He believed that Netflix did a great job in adapting his story into a series. Adding on, he also believed the network can proceed without him penning a book since they deeply and perfectly understand the characters in his story.

"I'd thought of a sequel at some point. I'd brainstormed it, but decided I wasn't going to write it. So, I'd love to see it," says Asher. He also added, "You can explore that world further in a different medium and the book will still be able to be itself."

Meanwhile, Devin Druid tells CNN that there are enough storylines left in the first season. This dangling plots from season 1 can justify "13 Reasons Why" season 2. Like what Asher said, the actor thinks that the season could show Mr. Porter's story arc on whether he will turn over Hannah's tapes or not.
