'Gilmore Girls' Renewal, Cast: Netflix Reveals Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel Series Is Not Coming Back Anytime Soon
The second "Gilmore Girls" renewal might not happen anytime soon. Fans have to wait whether Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel will reprise their roles as Lorelai and Rory. But, with the finale of the first revival and with Graham's revelation about it, maybe just maybe there is still hope.
According to a report from E! News, the second "Gilmore Girls" renewal is still hanging in the air. Though Graham reveals that the ending of the first revival is a cliffhanger, the actress and her on-screen daughter Bledel is still unsure whether that finale will lead to another renewal. However, in their latest interview, both stars and even Netflix reveals did not close the idea of another chapter for Lorelai and Rory.
As per the aforementioned site, though Graham and Bledel cannot say the possibility of having another "Gilmore Girls" renewal. Though the ending can surely have a continuation, both stars have no plans on just blurting out that they are indeed up for a second revival immediately.
Adding on, Graham said that with what just happened in the first "Gilmore Girls" renewal, there comes a point where they thought of "what could we do with this story that is satisfying, that is worth continuing". She admits that she does not want to make it feel like they "overstayed" their welcome. Meaning to say, she does want to reprise her role as Lorelai since she even points out that she if she could be Lorelai forever, she will do this "until [her] dying day".
Meanwhile, Bledel expresses that the second "Gilmore Girls" renewal comes down to what kind of story they are telling this time. She admits being interested with what telling a story that is dynamic and where she can hook into. In addition, she also added that since they did not expect what just happened in the series, they are somewhat "reeling from that".
On the other hand, in TV Line's report, Netflix' Ted Sarandos reveals that "Gilmore Girls" renewal is at the "very preliminary" stage. He is reportedly in talks with Amy Sherman-Palladino and Dan Palladino and presumably, with the Warner Bros. Based on his statement, fans will have to wait for a couple of years for the series to come back.
