‘The Originals’ Season 4 Spoilers: Showrunner Teases Elijah, Hayley Heartbreak

Mysterious and malevolent things are happening in "The Originals" Season 4 that will impact the relationships of beloved characters. Latest spoiler news teased of the challenges and heartache that Elijah (Daniel Gillies) and Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) will face in upcoming episodes.

The development of Elijah and Hayley's romance in "The Originals" Season 4 has been one of the story elements that delighted avid viewers of the CW show. The two even shared a memorable moment where they professed their love for each other in recent episodes of the series.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Michael Narducci commented that the said love confession was a sincere moment between Elijah and Hayley. It marked one of the positive developments in their relationship that showed the "intense loyalty" of the said couple with one another in "The Originals" Season 4. However, the two characters' relationship will be tested given the unfortunate incidents that they and the Mikaelson clan will face in upcoming episodes.

Elijah and Hayley will not be given the chance to live a happy and peaceful life in "The Originals" Season 4, according to Narducci. He explained, "There's going to be complications and heartbreak and trouble. A lot of things are going to stand in the way of these people's happiness, and I just hope they're able to not only survive it but endure together."

In other news, avid viewers can expect to see the repercussions of Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Marcel's (Charles Michael Davis) exposure to The Hollow's sinister blue light in the upcoming "The Originals" Season 4 episode 5. Titled "I Hear You Knocking," the said two characters will experience a mysterious haunting, according to episode spoilers posted on Spoilers Guide.

Subjected to see hallucinations of mysterious figures who will try to pit the two characters against each other, Klaus and Marcel will find themselves in a violent fight to the death in the said "The Originals" Season 4 episode. Meanwhile, Hayley will team up with Elijah to learn more about The Hollow but the quest will lead her to uncover a link between her former pack and the villainous dark force.
