Opposition Democratic United Party Presidential Candidate Moon Jae-In Makes Street Speech

Moon Jae-in and his closest rival Ahn Cheol-soo are going head to head to success Korea's former president Park Geun-hye prior to the May 9 presidential election. It has yet to be decided by the Koreans if who will be elected in the country's top spot amidst the corruption scandal that beset the country lately.

Moon Jae-in is the official candidate of the Democratic Party of Korea and it looks like he is enjoying the lead as what is shown in the latest survey. The presidential candidate is looking for his lead over his closest contender Ahn from the People's Party as reported by NK News.

However, it looks like Moon is concerned over one thing and that has something to do still with the latest survey results. Despite his reported lead, Ahn has started to outrun Moon the past days. With this, his lead has been narrowing in some opinion polls and this is surely a bad news for the DPK. Because of this intense rivalry, the supporters of these two top presidential contenders are engaging into a war of the words and it is just getting worse.

If the candidates from the other parties are to be included, Moon Jae-in takes advantage of the poll over Ahn. Like the poll that was shown by the Micromill Embrain last Wednesday, Moon gained support of 38.2 percent while Ahn got 33.2 percent. But if those candidates are not to be considered, Ahn overtook Moon with support of 47 percent while Moon only got 40.8 percent.

The two-way race is not really good for Moon Jae-in as the presidential election is approaching. But another poll was conducted by Realmeter wherein it resulted to Moon's lead over Ahn with 7 percent difference.

The Democratic Party of Korea is concerned with this as Ahn is catching up with Moon. With that, the party has intensified its offensive tactics against the People's Party candidate. One of the reported strategies that the party might employ is to downplay Ahn's increasing popularity as per Korea Herald. It can be recalled that the primaries in the People's Party has just finished and Ahn might continue to make good in the polls.

As the DPK is trying to regain the lead in the polls for Moon, Ahn himself is also employing some techniques to bring Moon down. According to the People's Party candidate, Moon has been taking advantage of his inherited legacy from former President Roh Moo-hyun just to get the highest position of the land. He also added that Moon is incapable and that Koreans should be encouraged to build a country on fair chances where the leader is capable enough.
