North Korean Defector Exposes Kim Jong-Un And His Nuclear Arms Status Quo

NBC's Lester Holt talks to North Korean defector Thae Yong-ho.

A high-profile North Korean defector has revealed that the Kim Jong-un is ready to launch a nuclear strike against the U.S. and its ally nations. He even made quite a warning advising the world to brace itself for this kind of person.

Thae Yong-ho is one of the few notable deserters of North Korea's tyrant and has been out of the reclusive country for two decades now. He spoke with NBC Nightly News' Lester Holt on Sunday and talked about Pyongyang's ever growing threat.

Per Thae, North Korea's Kim is desperate in holding on to his iron fist rule through his continuous development of nuclear armaments and long ranged missiles albeit the plethora of warnings and sanctions implemented by other countries. He added that if the North Korean leader notices any activity coming from the West that he deems that it would put the country and his rule in peril, he will launch his nuke powered artillery in a heartbeat, NBC reported.

As of late, North Korea is believed to have been keeping at least eight nuclear weapons, though it is still uncertain if such could be lodged inside one their intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBM) which Pyongyang claims to have the capability of reaching the U.S. soil. Nonetheless, Thae did reveal during the interview that the country's nuclear development "has reached a very significant level."

Deputy National Security Advisor Kathleen Troia (K.T.) McFarland, on the other hand, stated that it is most likely that North Korea would launch a nuclear strike to the U.S. mainland by 2020, according to the Financial Times as cited by TruNews. However, with the current situation that has been going on, such scenario could happen sooner than expected.

It has been reported early on that U.S. President Donald Trump stated that China has influenced Kim's isolated nation immensely adding that it could put North Korea's economy frozen if they wish to do so. Watch a portion of Holt's interview with Thae here:
