‘Samsung Galaxy S8’ News: Keeping 3.5mm Headphone Jack Makes Majority Of Mobile Users Glad
The Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus was unveiled last week in New York City at Lincoln Center during the company's Unpacked Event. The latest device was in the news these past months speculating the possible specs we could see in the new South Korean electronics company's smartphone.
Aside from the latest smartphone device, the Samsung company also introduces other technology during the event, such as the Samsung Deck, Samsung Home Connect and the Bixby. Among with these technologies, the most surprising things about the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus for the smartphone fans and the mobile industry is the 3.5mm headphone jack.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus still have the 3.5mm headphone jack, located on its lower left frame. Despite of the other smartphone devices previously released ditching out the said port, which is started by the Apple with their iPhone 7 last year, the Samsung still make the majority of the mobile users worldwide by retaining the, most precious port for some, headphone jack.
After the Apple first ditch out the 3.5mm headphone jack on the iPhone 7 to push consumers to use the wireless headphones, many rumors and speculations are also appeared saying that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will also follow the trend and do the same. But these rumors ended when the device is finally unveiled with the port still in the device.
According to Business Insider, for the past several months, Intel and others have been pushing the USB-C, the universal port that's replacing older USB ports on more and more devices, as the 3.5 mm jack's replacement. However, Samsung might have their own world choosing what's best for their consumers.
Other smartphones manufacturer that entirely ditched out the headphone jack, aside from Apple, are Motorola, LeEco, and HTC. However, along with the Samsung Galaxy S8, the LG's latest G6 flagship smartphone also retain the port.
