'The Originals' Season 4 Spoilers: Hayley & Elijah Romance To Take A Backseat; Hope To Unite Mikaelsons Against Enemies

It may be a while before Hayley and Elijah could focus on romance in The CW's "The Originals" Season 4. The confirmation came from actress Phoebe Tonkin, who plays Phoebe in the series.  

In an interview with TVLine, Tonkin shared that it may take a while before Elijah and Hayley or Haylijah could find time for love in "The Originals" Season 4  even though the werewolf spent five years thinking about him. She said that the new threat against the Mikaelsons may pose a bigger problem than complications in their love life.

According to Tonkin, Hayley's main focus this season will be protecting Hope. She said that getting in a romantic involvement may prove to be too time-consuming for a werewolf mother raising one of the most powerful mythical beings in New Orleans. Being the daughter of Original vampire Klaus Mikaelson, who also happens to be a hybrid werewolf, and having the additional strength of being born to werewolf Hayley tends to make her a potential threat against their family's enemies.

Tonkin said that Hope will also inspire the family to unite because of their common love for the little girl. Klaus and Hayley, along with Elijah, Rebekah and their allies are bonded by their goal to shield her from harm.

"Not only does she have a mother and father who are willing to do anything to keep her safe, but this little girl also has all these very protective aunts and uncles," she said. "It's a nice thing to see all these grown adults who are just completely devoted to this young girl."

Executive Producer Michael Narducci said that Hayley's choice makes a lot of sense because, at this point, she needs guidance and protection from her family. She is also expected to center on many things as the season progresses.

Meanwhile, TV Fanatic has posted stills from "The Originals" Season 4's upcoming episode hints that Keelin may be on the way to freedom because of Hayley. It also hints at Hayley and Elijah's reunion and Klaus' emotional moment in meeting his daughter for the first time in five years. The stills also show Hayley telling Klaus about Hope's power but it remains to be seen what Klaus will do with that information.
