Recently, a patent has been spotted online that support the rumors about the foldable feature of the Surface Phone. It says that the new patent describes a foldable device with a display made of multiple layers. The panels curve at the edges, which would allow the surface to create the illusion of a unified image.

The first problem when talks about the foldable smartphone are the gap between the screens. A handset device that can be folded in half will have an obstacle in the middle where the hinge is, which will interfere with the image's wholeness, Auto World News stated. But based on the alleged patent for Surface Phone, it solves the biggest problems about foldable screens, the curves will draw the light away from the gap, eliminating this hindrance.

Assuming that it is true, the Surface Phone can function as a 2-in-1 device. Unfolding this phone and used the unified multiscreen will work like a tablet, and folding it off, making it small enough to handle it in one hand, allowed users to use it as a phone.
