BIG BANG's T.O.P. Is Now Officially A Policeman
BIG BANG's T.O.P. will soon embark on a new career as a policeman after completing his training period for his mandatory military service. The K-pop idol may soon be deployed at the Gangnam Station for his formal appointment.
According to a report by SBS Pop Asia, T.O.P. has completed his training requirements from Nonsan Army Training Center as well as his police training at the Byukjae Training Facility. These are the first two phases of T.O.P's two-year mandatory service requirement.
While T.O.P. wanted his military service to proceed normally and without much fanfare, this proved to be impossible for a K-pop idol as well loved as he as his initial days at Nonsan was subject to much scrutiny when pictures of T.O.P with his batchmates surfaced and netizens observed that he was wearing his name tag on the opposite side of his uniform. Some speculated that he was let off easily for the mistake because he was a celebrity but army officials denied speculations and clarified that it was an honest mistake on the part of T.O.P., All Kpop reported.
T.O.P. was also not present at his training completion ceremony which led fans to worry about the BIG BANG member. Military officials assured that he completed his requirements but was unable to attend the event because he was suffering from health issues.
When he was transferred to Byukjae Training Center, T.O.P. also had to ask for help from his big sister Choi Hye Youn when fans kept sending him food deliveries at the facility. Hye Youn had to post on her Instagram T.O.P's message of gratitude for the fans' love and support but asked them to stop with the food deliveries lest he is punished for it, Big Bang Amino reported.
It turned out that it was a strict policy at the Byukjae Training Center that food deliveries are forbidden. Trainees who violate the rule are penalized so T.O.P. wanted to convey the message to his well-meaning supporters. Now that he's going to be a police officer, he may be hoping that he will be able to fulfill his duties like a normal public servant. His mandatory service ends November 2018.
