Sistar’s Hyolyn Named By Billboard As ‘One Of The Most Recognizable Voices In Kpop’

Sistar's Hyolyn is slowly making her mark in the Hollywood music industry following the singer's series of impressive U.S. performances. The Kpop idol even gained the attention of Billboard in a report that recognized the singer's talents.

The said Kpop idol is known in South Korea for her powerful vocals, as well as her dancing and rapping skills. Sistar's Hyolyn's vocal prowess was recently applauded by Billboard in a report that described her as "one of the most recognizable voices in Kpop."

Sistar's Hyolyn, or Hyorin, was lauded for her unique "husky" and "airy tone" that resulted in the singer's various solo and collaboration tracks entering several Billboard charts over the years. The Kpop idol's song "One Way Love" even nabbed the top spot on Billboard's Korea Kpop Hot 100 when it was released and even peaked at number 11 on the World Digital Songs list.

Recently, the South Korean songstress embarked on a solo U.S. concert tour where she regaled avid fans with an intimate yet powerful stage. Sistar's Hyolyn performed in New York and Los Angeles on March 18 and March 19, respectively. Prior to the said two shows, the Kpop idol also appeared during the Kpop Night Out event at the 2017 South by Southwest (SXSW) Festival.

Held in Austin, Texas on March 17, Sistar's Hyolyn showed her sexy side as she performed some of her own hits before belting out a cover of Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj's "Bang Bang." In an interview with Billboard, the Kpop singer shared that despite her nervousness in performing solo, her U.S. shows helped her to display her vocal talents and connect with global fans.

The "Paradise" singer also revealed that she wanted to show a different side of herself through her solo music. Sistar's Hyolyn commented that her songs are an artful blending of various genres which is different from the balanced songs that her Kpop group usually releases.

In other news, Sistar's Hyolyn is speculated make an appearance in the reality competition "High School Rapper." The Kpop idol was identified as the guest celebrity to perform with the finalist Kim Sun Jae and the said contender's mentor Mad Clown, according to Korean news outlet OSEN.

At this time, Sistar's Hyolyn's participation in the said reality competition is yet to be confirmed. The final episode of "High School Rapper" will air on March 31.
