Seo In Guk To Enter Into The Army With No Fanfare
Seo In Guk planned to hold no fanfare when he enlists in the military Tuesday. The singer-actor wants to enter the army quietly with no press meetings or speeches. The star has instead left behind a music video of his self-composed song dedicated to his fans.
The "Reply 1997" actor heads off to the Yeoncheon County's 5th division in Gyeonggi Province to start his five-week basic training as an active duty soldier, according to allkpop. Seo In Guk joins Big Bang's T.O.P. and JYJ's Junsu among the list of celebrities who enlisted in the military this year and chose to enter into the army without any fanfare. The singer-actor had openly talked about his plans to do so after being drafted for active duty last year.
"People who know me have said that they think I will adjust well when I go to the military," Soompi quoted Seo In Guk as saying in a past interview with Star News. He added that he plans to enlist quietly and that he's "thinking of different several things" to leave his fans with while he's away. He said, "However, I think fans will be sad if I don't do anything before enlisting."
The singer-actor will be away from the limelight for almost two years so he's left behind something so fans will remember him by. Seo In Guk released Monday a music video of "Better Together" dedicated to his fans. He claims to have written and composed the song himself and performed it for the first time at his "Mint Chocolate" year-end concert last year. The "Shopaholic Louis" actor will also drop another video Friday.
Seo In Guk broke into the entertainment industry when he competed and won in Mnet's "Superstar K" in 2009. He then made his acting debut in 2012 in the KBS' drama "Love Rain" and landed on his first leading role in the hit tvN series "Reply 1997." The 29-year-old star also came to be known as the Kiss Master because of his chemistry with his onscreen leading ladies.
