Fake reviews for Whatsapp

WhatsApp has stacked thousands of five-star reviews on the Google Play store over the last few weeks. It seems that the five-star ratings are appeared to be allegedly fake as they contain the word "Gaming interface" in the review. Does it a strategy to improve the ratings of the app? Or it is something else?

Right now, the popular messaging app holds an average rating of 4.4 stars based on approximately 54 million reviews it has received on Google Play store since its launch. But things have not been going so far for the famous app for the last few months. It seems that the company is allegedly trying to improve the ratings by increasing the number of 5-star reviews.

As per the reports offered by Telegra.ph post, the facebook-owned app has got a litany of unfavorable reviews over the last few months. It can be said that the reviews are due to its increasing competition with the popular snapping app Snapchat. Day by day, WhatsApp is offering numerous features similar to Snapchat.

Recently, the company just ditch the text status features in order to implement WhatsApp stories. Many WhatsApp users found the new feature no so friendly as they just don't want to share their photos with their contacts. The user even gave lots of feedback for the new feature called WhatsApp stories.

With so much, the company has to bring back its text status message soon. After this, the average ratings of the app is decreased to 3.4 which is one point lower than its all time median. So, it is possible that the company is trying to increase its ratings with millions of new 5 star reviews. But the reviews raised a doubt over their authenticity as they include "awesome gameplay" and "Good Graphics" in their comments. How far is a messaging app relevant to gameplay and graphics?
