'Grey's Anatomy' Season 13 Spoilers: Meredith-Alex-Nate Love Triangle In the Works?
Will there be a new love triangle in "Grey's Anatomy" Season 13? Nothing seems to be impossible for the medical drama as it seems that Meredith may be caught in the center of a love triangle between Alex and Nate.
It was reported before by TVline that "Grey's Anatomy" actor Justin Chambers thought that the idea of Alex and Meredith seemed quite impossible because they only saw each other as siblings, which was natural because they were the only two remaining members of the original batch of interns. However, he seemed to be singing a different tune at the recent Paleyfest event.
During the "Grey's Anatomy" panel, Chambers was asked which romantic pairing he would like to see for his character Dr. Alex Karev. Shippers have been pushing a pairing with Meredith since Alex almost went to prison, especially since his relationship with Jo seemed to be growing more and more dire.
Chambers said that while he would like for Alex to work out his issues with Jo, he is not putting anything past the writers. He said in a Holywood Reporter interview: "Anything is possible, especially on 'Grey's Anatomy.' He might even be with Catherine!"
But while Meredith-Alex shippers are reveling at the possibility, there is another character in the picture - Dr. Nathan Riggs, played by Martin Henderson. Nate has never been shy about putting his feelings for Meredith out there and is perhaps the closest thing she has to a love interest in Grey's Anatomy at this point.
Hardcore fans of Mer-Der are obviously not in favor of the pairing out of loyalty to Patrick Dempsey's Dr. Derek Sheperd, but Henderson believes that its essential for Nate to get together with Meredith to move forward, a separate report by TVLine cited.
"It's impossible to be a great man without a good woman by your side," he teased Grey's Anatomy fans. For her part, Ellen Pompeo, who plays Meredith Grey in the series, is set to direct her first episode which will air on March 30 and promises to make everybody cry.
