Kim Go Eun Denies Gong Yoo Caused Her Breakup With Shin Ha Kyun
Actress Kim Go Eun denied "Goblin" co-star Gong Yoo had anything to do with her recent breakup with actor Shin Ha Kyun. The actress' management label clarified that the "Goblin" onscreen couple "just had good chemistry for the drama" and nothing more. They repeated that it's the actors' busy schedules that caused the breakup and not a third party.
Kim Go Eun and Shin Ha Kyun's management label HODU&U Entertainment addressed the circulating rumors that Gong Yoo had something to do with the breakup. The label disregarded the rumors as "just tabloid news with no evidence." According to allkpop, the label stated, "They just had good chemistry for the drama. She and Shin Ha Kyun broke up because of their schedule, not because of someone else."
According to allkpop, HODU&U Entertainment announced Kim Go Eun and Shin Ha Kyun's breakup Wednesday. They dated for eight months despite their 17-year age difference but separated "around late February" because of their busy schedules. The former couple made their relationship public in August last year shortly after Kim Go Eun moved to the same agency with Shin Ha Kyun and just a matter of months before she met Gong Yoo.
The 25-year-old actress had openly spoken of her fondness for the 37-year-old "Goblin" leading man, who happens to be one of the most in demand Korean actors right now. During the "Goblin" press conference held in November last year, Kim Go Eun said she and Gong Yoo shared the same personality that they ended up "joking around" even while filming.
She also described the heartthrob's personality as "like a prankster." On the other hand, she revealed that her real-life leading man then advised her to take care of her health while filming because Shin Ha Kyun said that "dramas were fights of stamina."
