On March 22, Niantic has officially rolled out the "Water Festival" for their augmented reality mobile title "Pokemon GO." Just as when everyone thought that it will be just like the previous ones, some players were surprised and elated at the same time as they caught the first ever shinies in the AR title.

Such great news has spread like wildfire across the "Pokemon GO" player base as some players took to social media to boast their catch. As of late, a yellow-colored Magikarp has been spotted and making rounds online. Furthermore, the recently discovered shiny Pokemon can be evolved at a hefty sum of 400 candies to produce a red-colored Gyarados, according to BGR.

There are no indications whatsoever on the map that players will be coming across with such Pokemon in "Pokemon GO." Gamers will only find that out by the time they are about to battle it.

Players have yet to discover though if there are other shinies scattered within the game. There are even some who are musing if such Pokemon variants will still be around even if "Pokemon GO's" "Water Festival" event is over.

"Pokemon GO's" new event, that kicked off Wednesday, will be running until March 29 and as the title suggests, players can expect an increased spawn rate of water type Pokemon during that mentioned period. As mentioned, gamers are bound to see such monsters like Totodile, Squirtle, and Magikarp alongside their respective evolutions like Feraligtr, Croconaw, Wartortle, Blastoise, and Gyarados, Forbes reported.

The ice type Pokemon - Lapras, was also hinted albeit the fact that it is classified as such. Since it is also part water, it is likely that fans will be seeing them in "Pokemon GO's" latest event. Aside from these creatures, players can also buy a special Magikarp hat that can be bought using Pokecoins. Watch a couple of videos featuring "Pokemon GO" and a shiny Magikarp:
