tvN Dramas ‘Goblin,’ ‘Another Oh Hae Young’ Big Winners At 2017 Korean Cable TV Awards

Several outstanding shows and artists were recognized during the recently held 2017 Korean Cable TV Awards. tvN's hit dramas such as "Goblin" and "Another Oh Hae Young" even received some of the event's biggest awards.

"Another Oh Hae Young" may have aired in 2016 but the romantic comedy series still garnered several accolades during the 2017 Korean Cable TV Awards. Held on March 10, Friday, at Seoul's COEX auditorium, the said tvN drama was honored with two awards, Soompi reported.

Ye Ji Won received the Scene Stealer Award for her portrayal of Soo Kyung in "Another Oh Hae Young." The said actress, as well as her co-star Kim Ji Suk, were also awarded the Best Couple honor.

tvN's "Goblin" was recognized as the Best Drama among other South Korean cable channel series. The said production also received the Cable VOD (Video on Demand) grand prize for the drama category.

Moreover, BTOB band member Yook Sungjae nabbed the Rising Star Award for the acting category. The Kpop idol portrayed the role of Deok Hwa, the young rich young man tasked with taking care of the immortal goblin Kim Shin (Gong Yoo).

Apart from the drama and acting categories, one of the songs from the "Goblin" soundtrack was honored during the 2017 Korean Cable TV Awards. The event's OST Award was awarded to Ailee and her track "I'll Go to You Like the First Snow."

"Goblin" has become one South Korea's most popular dramas given its star-studded cast and intriguing storyline. One of the elements that also made the said tvN series a hit production was the amazing onscreen bromance between its lead actors, Gong Yoo and Lee Dong Wook. The two South Korean celebrities' popularity even rose to a higher level after appearing in the said tvN drama with offers for various endorsement deals and appearances in upcoming fan events.

Lee Dong Wook is set to jumpstart his 2017 fan meeting tour with a meet-and-greet event in Seoul on March 12, Sunday. Meanwhile, the actor's "Goblin" co-star is slated to hold fan events in Taiwan on April 29, Saturday, and Hong Kong on May 5, Friday, Yonhap News reported.

"Goblin" ended its 16-episode run on Jan, 21, Saturday, and released two special episodes in early February. "Another Oh Hae Young" aired from May 2016 until June 2016.
