EXO's Kai Praised For Strong Work Ethics; 'Andante' Star Shows Passion In Upcoming KBS Drama
EXO's Kai is proving his dedication not only in the field of music but also in acting. On the set of his upcoming KBS drama "Andante," the EXO member has been getting attention from the production staff for his strong work ethics.
According to a report from Soompi, the TV network recently released the behind-the-scenes shots from the set of "Andante," some of which show EXO's Kai being immersed in the script and acting. In one photo, for instance, the idol-actor can be seen talking and listening intently to the director. He is also said to be frequently exchanging thoughts and feedback with the director and his "Andante" co-stars during filming.
The other photos also show the EXO member reading the script seriously. His co-workers on the set said that EXO's Kai almost never lets go of the script as he studies his lines intently between takes. Kai would also immediately run to the monitor to check his acting after filming scenes, proving his commitment to his newest acting project.
"Kai approaches each and every scene with maturity, enthusiasm, and sincerity," an insider from the "Andante" production team said, as per Soompi. "He works very hard on set and shows consistent growth with every passing day. We are excited to see where his career takes him as he continues to improve."
It can be recalled that the news of EXO's Kai casting in the KBS drama as its lead star stirred controversy earlier this year. According to reports, the singer-actor received a lot of flak for having been picked for the lead role in "Andante" simply due to the popularity of his idol group EXO. While he was not entirely new in the acting field, having acted in two web dramas "Choco Bank" and "7 First Kisses," Kai was still seen as an inappropriate choice for the lead role of the KBS drama because of his lack of experience.
In KBS' "Andante," EXO Kai plays a rebellious high school student named Si Kyung who moves to the countryside and experiences more about life and love. The network is yet to announce the release date of the upcoming youth drama, but it is expected to air in the second half of this year.
