BTS’ Rap Monster’s Strategy In Telling His Parents About His Kpop Career Plans Revealed

Young aspiring artists hoping to start a career in the music industry would usually have a difficult time convincing their parents to let them to pursue their dreams. Recently, BTS band leader Rap Monster revealed the smart way that he persuaded his parents to allow him to become a Kpop idol.

Many singers and musicians have had to deal with the immense challenge of gaining the interest of talent companies during audition sessions or special reality TV competitions. For young artists, the first hurdle that they have to face would be convincing parents to allow them to try their hand at landing their dream profession. In Rap Monster's case, he came up with a clever strategy that showed his confidence in becoming one of South Korea's top rappers.

Kim Nam Joon, better known as Rap Monster, used a smart comparative analysis of himself as an ordinary working man and a musician, according to Koreaboo. The BTS band member recounted how he spoke to his mother and asked her to choose whether she would like to have a son who will become a top rapper or a successful but mediocre salary man. Given Rap Monster's confidence in himself and his musical talents, he was able to convince his parents to allow him to live a Kpop idol's life.

Moreover, despite being lauded as one of the most intelligent musicians in the South Korean entertainment industry, the BTS rapper stated that he was only reached around the 5,000th place among South Korea's smartest students during his time in school. Rap Monster added, "No matter how smart people told me I was, I was 5,000th in the country. However, I was positive I'd be number 1 in the country when it came to rap."

In other news, BTS surprised the students in Seoul's Sam Jeong Middle School when they suddenly held a special event on the school grounds. Held on March 6, Monday, the special school activity was made possible with the band's collaboration with local telecommunications company, SK Telecom, Soompi reported.

BTS band members even played a quiz game with some of the students and gave away autographed CDs as a special prize. The Kpop band also shared a group picture with the event attendees.
