Torment: Tides of Numenera

The new "Torment: Tides of Numenera" role playing game starts with an unknown character that will be sent to the middle of very eventful storyline and then becomes a great hero. The new PlayStation RPG takes this concept further by introducing the character to players as a newborn.

According to PlayStation Lifestyle, the game's main character isn't born in a conventional sense but born right after leaving a host body for a new body. The cast off body in "Torment: Tides of Numenera" develops a new consciousness and has no memories of anything about the body jumper. These game characters are called Castoffs and they are designed with a giant tattoo on their heads.

One of the main strengths of "Torment: Tides of Numenera" is its deep storyline, which introduces a different Castoff that can remember the people inhabiting the Ninth World along with its adversary called the Sorrow. The game is a successor to "Planescape: Torment" which was released back in 1999 and is considered to be one of the best RPGs ever created. The new game has borrowed the Planescape design and it fills the screen with whole cities made out of meat along with beautiful quasi-medieval markets as reported by IGN.

"Torment: Tides of Numenera" has a very well-crafted original story which is introduced to gamers through various dialogue choices. Almost every in-game conversation and varying interactions will trigger dialogue options. Another plus factor of the game is the amazingly styled sentences that are incorporated into the text.

The RPG has three combat classes which are the mage-like Nano, the warrior Glaive and the adaptable Jack respectively. The mage Nano in particular has an incredible ability to read minds that paves way to a lot of dialogue choices. In "Torment: Tides of Numenera" the developers has found a way to make the game even more interesting by giving plenty of weight to interactions and conversations with different game characters.
