The streets of Seoul will soon become crowded with millions of people in an effort to reinstate or overthrow President Park Geun-hye. Many are concerned that the clash between two opposing groups might lead to violence.

Special prosecutors have been tasked to conduct a widespread investigation into the alleged corruption of President Park Geun-hye. The Constitutional Court has reviewed the legal basis of her impeachment and Park's opponents along with her supporters have protested on the streets each Saturday since last year. The supporters have been protesting peacefully near Seoul city hall with many of them waving the Korean flag while the president's critics have been instigating candlelight vigils in Gwanghwamun Square according to Korea Herald.

Both groups are planning to gather for a special rally on Wednesday which is a public holiday in Korea known as the Independence Movement Day. This event will happen a day after an independent counsel wrapped up the 70-day inquiry that led to President Park Geun-hye being named as a suspect in a bribery case. It connected Park to her friend Choi Soon-sil who is suspected of extorting money from Samsung Group and other local conglomerates.

In a report by Yonhap News, it stated that the Constitutional Court has held the final hearing in the impeachment trial of President Park Geun-hye this week and the court is anticipated to hand down a ruling on March 13 which will coincide with the retirement of its acting chief justice. Officials within the group of Park's supporters said that they are planning to march to the Cheong Wa Dae presidential office for the first time. The group also said that they are expecting around 5 to 7 million people who would join the rally to support the president.

The upcoming protest will be uploaded live on YouTube and it will feature arguments that the whole impeachment process was generated by false media reports along with the flawed impeachment vote which was held last December 9. President Park Geun-hye is reported to be protected from criminal indictment while she still holds her position in office.
