It appears that Guerrilla Games honored Japanese game designer Hideo Kojima by adding several hidden "Death Stranding" elements in "Horizon Zero Dawn." Recently, eagle-eyed players discovered three in-game items that are linked to the upcoming PS4 title.

A strong partnership between Guerrilla Games and Hideo Kojima was formed when the said designer tapped the gaming company for his upcoming "Death Stranding" game. With the upcoming PS4 title using the said firm's Decima engine, the two developers came up with a powerful system for Kojima Production's new game.

Given the said collaboration, it seems that Guerrilla Games incorporated a few surprises in "Horizon Zero Dawn" that are linked to both Hideo Kojima and "Death Stranding." Gamer Arekkz highlighted an in-game item in "Horizon Zero Dawn" called "Mysterious Box" that contains three images of the Japanese game designer's company logo, VG24/7 reported.

Each image pertains to an item that players can find in "Horizon Zero Dawn's" open world. Classified as "very rare" artifacts, the descriptions appear to reference Hideo Kojima's game. Named "Stranded Figure," "Stranded Shackles" and "Stranded Necklace," players can trade the said pieces to the merchant to receive the "Mysterious Box" that holds "an assortment of items."

Moreover, the said three items were also seen in previously released "Death Stranding" teaser clips. The "Stranded Necklace" and "Stranded Shackles" are representations of the metal necklace and the handcuffs that Norman Reedus wore in the first clip.

Meanwhile, the "Stranded Figure" which is a "battered idol of an infant, smelling faintly of decay," according to the item description listed on "Horizon Zero Dawn," is another nod to Hideo Kojima's game. The first and second trailers of "Death Stranding" featured babies although the second clip also included an image of a broken doll floating on water.

In other news, Hideo Kojima recently opened up about his collaboration with Guerrilla Games. In an interview with Glixel, he recounted how he and his team looked at the Decima engine and was ready to utilize its existing features for "Death Stranding." However, Guerrilla Games opted for the two of them to work together to create an enhanced and more powerful version of the said engine.

Guerrilla Games' "Horizon Zero Dawn" was released on Feb. 28, while Hideo Kojima's "Death Stranding" is currently under development. Both games are PS4 exclusive titles.
