Nicki Minaj Sparks Controversy With Giueseppe Zanotti After Racist Comments
Nicki Minaj runs out of patience with the Italian shoe designer Giuseppe Zanotti after the latter reportedly denied calls from her reps. She accused him of racism and disrespect after the shoe designer used her name for his collections without her consent.
Reps for Minaj reached out to Zanotti but were reportedly snubbed by the Italian shoe designer. On Feb. 3, Friday, she unleashed her anger by bombarding him with a series of Twitter rants. The hashtag #GiuseppeWhatsGood swiftly became trending a few moments following her posts.
Minaj also wrote that she would not tolerate racism and disrespect. "What's Good?" is the popular line that Minaj used for Miley Cyrus during their onstage showdown during the 2015 VMA's.
Zanotti's "Nicki" collection is sold for $675 with different color options available, including Minaj's signature pink python-printed leather. Prior to her Twitter rants, she is a fan of the brand as she has worn the designer brand for years. She even used Zanotti's name in the lyrics of her songs, E! News reported.
Minaj also confirmed on her Twitter post that Zanotti offered other artists capsule collections. Just before the rapper aired her concern on the social media, the shoe mogul has collaborated with Jennifer Lopez and former One Direction singer Zayn Malik.
Part of Minaj's request is to donate the proceeds from the sales of her collection to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. She even offered to donate up to $500,000 if Zanotti will donate a part of the sales from "Nicki" sneakers.
In other news, Minaj's fans were left shocked after the Trinidadian-born rapper posted her photo on Instagram that seemed to announce her pregnancy. It came instantly after Beyonce announced that she is pregnant with twins.
Minaj's fans know that it is not true, but the post still created a buzz in the social media. Her pregnancy post immediately started talks that it was a reference to Mill's recent claim that she is pregnant, Paper Mag reported.
Minaj and Mill broke up after dating for nearly two years. During that time, she confirmed her break with the "All Eyes on You" rapper, while affirming that she is now focusing on her work. The Truffle Butter" rapper dated rapper Safaree Samuels for 12 years before dating Mill.
