Niantic has finally announced that "Pokemon GO" is totally having a Valentine's Day event. However, recent reports are claiming that players might not be interested in the upcoming huge event.

Kotaku reported that a number of "Pokemon GO" players got disappointed due to the game's lack of content. The news outlet even added that the Valentine's Day event is not, at all cost, addressing the current needs of its avid gamers.

"Players will receive double the amount of Candy when catching, hatching and transferring Pokémon, while Buddy Pokémon will find Candy twice as fast for their Trainers," Niantic stated about the latest "Pokemon GO" event. Kotaku, however, claimed that the Valentine's Day event is not that impressive as it is not giving the Generation 2 Pokemon that players have been wanting since last year.

Aside from that, Kotaku has further expressed disappointment over the fact that no new Pokemon tracker, a newly developed gym or a player versus player battles. Most "Pokemon GO" players are also expecting to have the much-anticipated legendary birds - Articuno, Moltres, and Zapdos - before the year ends.

During the Valentine's Day event, "Pokemon GO" players can enjoy increased spawn rates for pink Pokemon such as Porygon, Clefable, and Chansey. Though Niantic has exerted efforts to host events in line with the celebration of the Valentine's Day, Kotaku claimed that gamers are not impressed at all.

Because of this, rumors about the cancellation of the "Pokemon GO" Valentine's Day event have started to spread. However, it is unlikely untrue since some players are already enjoying the latest update.

Meanwhile, Stars and Stripes reported that "Pokemon GO" has finally crossed South Korea on Jan. 24. According to the news outlet, the augmented-reality game is now dominating the state six months after the security-conscious country banned it due to strict rules in map data and GPS.
