Samsung Galaxy S8's Snapdragon 835 Outscored The 820 In The Benchmark Test; Featuring The Less Power Consumption Processor
Samsung has just run a benchmark test of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 to check how fast and powerful it will be. The Snapdragon 835 will be used in the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8, which is slated to launch this year.
In a report held by The Verge, the Snapdragon 835 is said to be an exclusive microprocessor for the Samsung Galaxy S8. No other Android phones can use the 835 aside from the Galaxy S8, making the S8 as the most powerful Android smartphone to hit the market.
With the use of the 10nm technology, the Snapdragon 835 or the MSM8998 has a powerful chipset. Not only that, the Snapdragon 835 is known to run in a minimal power source. This means that it consumes less power, resulting to a better battery durability preservation.
According to The Bit Bag, the Snapdragon 835 will definitely solve the battery issues that an Android smartphone usually has. The battery will not be stressed at all, even playing HD games since the 835 consumes less power compared to the previous versions.
Talking about the benchmark test, the test used a 4GB RAM while utilizing the Snapdragon 835 that runs 1.9GHz clock speed. The 835 got a score of 2004 while the Snapdragon 820 of the Galaxy S7 that runs at 1.6GHz only got 1785 benchmark score.
Running a benchmark like this is not simply to compare the new one to the old ones, instead, this is to show the difference of the new microprocessor from the previous version's performance.
Above all, the best advantage of the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 is the fact that it uses less power. In this case, the Samsung Galaxy S8's battery will have a longer usage capacity.
Keep in mind that this is just an initial test. Samsung will definitely run another benchmark, right before the official release of the Galaxy S8.
