Even with the renewal of the series, Arrow could be on the brink of cancellation after posting the worst ratings in five seasons. Thus, with all the tie-ups with Super Girl and the Flash, the show is suspected to piggyback on the popularity of the newer shows on CW.

It was far remembered how Arrow plunged into the television sets back in 2012 and the consistent drop of the show has been alarming for CW which hints that the sixth season could be the last if ratings will not improve.

Known as the pioneer of the DC TV series franchise that led CW to launch The Flash and Super Girl, the midseason ratings of Arrow did only 0.6 as a score for the 18-49 demographic as reported by Cinema Blend. With only 1.68 million viewers, the drop was from 1.94 at the beginning of the season. Both numbers are staggering and even when Laurel Lance mad a return, it was not enough to bring the ratings up.

In was said that Talia, the daughter of Ra's Al Ghul (Malcolm Merlyn) who was played by Lexa Doig, had already made an appearance but in did not pull up the numbers to a satisfactory rate. It has been wondered if the change of character from Matt Nable to Malcolm Merlyn in Season 3 for the role of Ra's Al Ghul was a factor for the series decline. Fans could be more interested in seeing consistency in the show.

Nonetheless, Arrow writers need to do something before the show could permanently be canceled. With the success of the appearances of Flash and Arrow in Super Girl, it can be expected that the two franchises will make an appearance in Arrow to help the pioneer of the DC TV series to gather up some steam.
