AMD Ryzen Release Date, News & Update: Imminent Chip Arriving At GDC 2017, Report Says; Slower Performance Yet Better Than Kaby Lake
AMD Ryzen has been the talk of the town lately. Now, new reports are claiming that the much-awaited processor is going to be released at GDC 2017.
WCCFTech reported that AMD Ryzen could possibly arrive at the GDC 2017 after the session scheduler had a major blunder. In the said note, the news outlet claimed to have found the statements saying, "Join AMD Game Engineering team members for an introduction to the recently-launched AMD Ryzen CPU followed by advanced optimization topics."
This then had fans speculating that AMD Ryzen is, indeed, coming very soon. For starters, the upcoming GDC 2017 event will take place from February 27 up to March 3, 2017.
GDC 2017 is an event designed to gather all gamers and inform them about the future of the industry including the online multiplayer games, mobile, and next-generation gaming technologies. If the claims saying that AMD Ryzen will arrive during the event, then, Skylake could possibly launch its newest offering too.
AMD Ryzen and the Kaby Lake have been hitting the headlines for quite some time. As a matter of fact, the two powerful processors have been compared to each other including their specs and impressive features.
Trusted Reviews has claimed that AMD Ryzen is going to have 4MB of L2 and 16 MB of L3 cache. The 3.4GHz+ chip is also expected to have a total of 8 cores. Moreover, the upcoming chip is said to have a better power consumption feature without affecting its performance.
"AMD had these goals from the outset, but it's good to know that this has been achieved. We don't know what the Ryzen chips stated TDP is, although it's rumored to be 95W," the review website stated. Though the performance of the AMD Ryzen is slightly down to the new 14nm process, it is still expected to be at par with the imminent Kaby Lake chip.
