The New York Knicks is now experiencing the same issues they had last season, lack of defense. As the struggle continues, Carmelo Anthony is now surrounded with several NBA trade rumors linking to the Cavaliers and Clippers.

Carmelo Anthony has been the face of the New York Knicks for over 5 years now and has been absent in the NBA Playoffs in the last 2 years. The team has been criticized due to their lack of defensive efforts, especially on Anthony's end.

The Knicks is 2-5 since the 2017 games have started and 2 of their loss was very devastating. After the loss against the Sixers last Wednesday, Anthony went on a tirade and said that the loss was very unacceptable on their part as per the New York Daily News reported

Before that, the Knicks also lost an almost sure win game against the Bucks last January 4th. They were up by more than 10 points in the last 2 minutes, the same scenario with the Sixers' game, but came up short as both games were lost via buzzer beaters.

Carmelo Anthony is now linked to a trade rumor after saying that he is willing to waive his No-Trade Clause contract if dealt with the Cavaliers or with the Clippers. As per the Fan Sided said in their report, trading Anthony will resolve nothing.

The Knicks need to work on their defense and we are not talking about rebound and paint protection. As seen in their previous performance, the Knicks struggles to fight back on a body-to-body basis.

Jeff Horncek is now addressing the defense after Derrick Rose demanded. Rose asked Hornacek to push everyone and defend.

The Knicks might fall short again this season as they found themselves near the Sixers in the NBA standings. Several basketball analysts are currently speculating that if the Knicks won't stand up today, Carmelo Anthony won't be wearing a Knicks jersey after the next 2 seasons.
