"Descendants of the Sun" stars Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo praised each other when they bagged the Grand Prize at the 2016 KBS Drama Awards.

The Hallyu stars delivered their acceptance speech Saturday night with all humility as they looked back at the challenges they had to overcome while making the hit drama and gave credit to each other as their ideal pair.

"I cried a lot during filming whenever I got stressed, so much so that my nickname was crybaby," said the 31-year-old actor who tried to hold back his tears, according to KPop Herald. "I give all credit and honor of this award to my partner Hye-kyo nuna, who is a great senior and the most beautiful and lovely partner. Thank you, Hye-kyo nuna."

The 35-year-old actress responded with the same thoughtfulness and affection.

"Most of all, I believe I am able to receive this award thanks to having met the best partner I could hope for, Mr. Song Joong-ki. I thank him once again," said Song Hye Kyo.

The actress celebrated her 20th anniversary in the industry last year but put on the robe of humility when she talked about feeling embarrassed for the lack in her acting skills and being hesitant to take on the role of Doctor Kang Mo-yeon.

Song Joong Ki also revealed that he received the script while he was still in the army for his military duty and expressed his gratitude for the role of Army Captain Yoo Shi-jin.

"I started with nothing. Thank you for bringing me here," he said.

Fellow actor Park Bo Gum made Song Joong Ki cry when the 23-year-old star delivered his acceptance speech for the Male Top Excellence Award for his portrayal in the hit drama "Love in the Moonlight"

Park Bo Gum popularized the term "almighty couple" for the "Descendants of the Sun" lead pair when he previously - and rightly - predicted that they would take home the KBY top award.

"There's the almighty Song-Song couple, right behind," Park Bo Gum told Elle magazine in an interview, according to Yahoo! Lifestyle.

This would be Song Hye Kyo's first time to attend the event since 12 years ago when she won Popularity Award for an Actress, Top Excellence Award for an Actress and Best Couple with co-star Rain for the romantic comedy "Full House."
