Park Bo Gum Makes Song Joong Ki Cry At 2016 KBS Drama Awards
Actor Park Bo Gum made his senior and fellow actor Song Joong Ki cry as he himself shed tears during his acceptance speech at the 2016 KBS Drama Awards.
The 23-year-old actor hosted the ceremony Saturday night with TV personality Jun Hyun Moo and won Male Top Excellence Award for his portrayal as the charming crown prince Lee Young in the popular drama "Love in the Moonlight" also known as "Moonlight Drawn by Clouds."
Park Bo Gum delivered an emotional acceptance speech that moved his comrade Song Joong Ki who was caught on camera wiping away tears several times. He expressed his gratitude and mentioned how the 31-year-old actor was instrumental to his success.
"When I was working on 'Moonlight Drawn by Clouds,' I felt like I was very lacking. But I'm grateful to Song Joong Ki, who gave me advice every time," Soompi quoted Park Bo Gum as saying.
Host Jun Hyun Moo teased Song Joong Ki for crying so much during Park Bo Gum's speech that even his "Descendants of the Sun" co-star Song Hye Kyo and those seated next to them were seen laughing at him.
"He's [Song Joong Ki] a very good senior actor at my company," explained Park Bo Gum. "I had a really hard time while I was filming this drama, and I couldn't find a balance. Song Joong Ki understood that more than anyone else, and he gave me a lot of advice, so I wanted to say that I'm really grateful."
Song Joong Ki became emotional again when he and Song Hye Kyo went on stage to accept the Grand Award later that night. He also mentioned Park Bo Gum when he joked that the younger actor made him cry.
Both handsome actors enjoyed sweeping popularity from their individual hit dramas last year. They've also been compared with each other as they appeared on commercials for Domino's Pizza and New Line Pay.
Park Bo Gum once said the comparison only motivated him more.
"It also makes me think that I need to engage in acting and also in life more honestly and smartly," he told Ilgan Sports in an interview, according to iTechPost.
