Lamar Odom’s Condition Improves As Khloe Kardashian Remains By Bedside
Lamar Odom's condition continues to improve, now able to say more words and breathe on his own, according to Yahoo! Celebrity. His still current wife, Khloe Kardashian, is still at his bedside to support the embattled ex-NBA player.
Last Oct. 13, Odom was found unconscious in a legal brothel, and has since been fighting for his life, as first reported by TMZ. Odom was partying with several girls at the Love Ranch, and was using a cocktail of drugs, including cocaine, and a herbal substitute for Viagra.
He was taken to Parhump hospital and was intubated because he can't breathe on his own. He was in a critical condition for several hours, with some of his organs failing. He was breathing with the assistance of machines.
After the initial Lamar Odom condition updates hit the news, his wife, Khloe Kardashian, along with her sister Kim headed directly to the hospital. Khloe barely left Odom's bedside, and was inconsolable, as he remained in a coma, according to US Weekly.
Khloe and Lamar were in the process of getting divorced. The Kardashian sister is still his wife, so she was the one technically responsible for medical decisions regarding Odom's condition.
Odom remained unconscious for 72 hours, regaining consciousness in the morning of Friday, Oct. 16. During that period, Khloe kept her silence, speaking out via her agents only once. She was asking for the brothel owner to respect their privacy and refrain from speaking with the media.
Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner revealed that her daughter only left her husband's bedside one time. She was there with him until he regained consciousness, while everyone else stayed in the waiting room.
Aside from the Kardashians, Odom's ex-teammates from the Lakers and Clippers rushed to his side during the ordeal, as reported by the LA Times. Blake Griffin, Deandre Jordan, and Chris Paul flew to Las Vegas to visit him. Kobe Bryant even cut a preseason game short just to see his championship teammate.
