"Deadpool" star Ryan Reynolds made his Best Actor acceptance speech by thanking Tom Hanks for his daughter's first words.

Reynolds won Sunday the Critics' Choice Awards for his performance in the superhero film "Deadpool." The award came as a surprise for him so he decided to just talk about Hanks, an Oscar favorite.

"No really though, you're a huge influence on me," People quoted the 40-year-old father of two as saying. "My 2-year-old daughter - the first full sentence she ever said was, 'There's no crying in baseball.' I'm not even kidding."

The line spoken by her daughter James is lifted from one of Hanks' classic films "A League of Their Own."

Reynolds also mentioned another A-list Hollywood actor when he talked about plans for "Deadpool 2." According to Entertainment Weekly, the actor said he hopes to bring in "Wolverine" star Hugh Jackman for the sequel which is slated to be out March 2, 2018. Reynolds admitted he may need to convince Jackman but added that he personally just wants to work with him as he considers Jackman his mentor and friend.

Reynolds was also awarded Entertainment Weekly's Entertainer of the Year and GQ's Men of the Year Thursday night.

"I get more cool points at home for like, you know, changing a diaper or something like that, but yeah this is, this doesn't suck," he said in an interview with Lauren Zena on Entertainment Tonight.

He talked about his second daughter with wife Blake Lively and described their 5-week-old baby girl as a small version of their eldest.

"It's like an actually cohesive, working, functioning family. It's amazing to see my older daughter taking care of my younger one," he quipped.

Lively is reportedly keen on getting back in shape after giving birth last September. Reynolds said he thinks she still looks fantastic but supports her with staying healthy.
