BTS's 'DNA' Set A New Record, Gets 70 Million Views

No US Debut for BTS, says the boy group's producer, contrary to what fans are expecting.

With the success of BTS' new album, 'Wings', that landed on the top spot of Billboard's World Albums Chart, it is only natural that the possibility of making an official US debut is brought up. Aside from topping the list for the World Albums Chart, their track 'Blood, Sweat & Tears' also made it to the top spot for Billboard's World Digital Song Sales. And to top it all, they also conquered the first spot for the Social 50 Chart, which means they are the most talked about artist in social media for the week.

They did not only dominate the first spots in the category mentioned but they were also able to maintain their dominance even on its second week.  No wonder more and more fans are getting curious if the boys will officially enter the international music scene after this.

However, amidst all this worldwide success, Bang Si Hyuk, Bit Hit Entertainment president and BTS' producer, made it clear that no US Debut for BTS. According to Bang Si Hyuk, they are not open to the idea of BTS making a US debut.

Aside from giving emphasis that no US Debut for BTS to be expected, the producer also said during an interview that he's thankful that the boys were able to capture the international music scene. "If they exceed a certain point and gain attention in the American mainstream market, then that'll be something to be thankful about," he said. However, he believed that making a US debut is already too much. "I think preparing an official debut overseas is yet excessive," as his exact word goes.

"A K-pop singer gaining attention in America's mainstream market with the genre of K-pop and competing with American mainstream artists with the goal of making an official debut overseas is completely different from the start," he said. Thus, he believed that "To go beyond is as wrong as to fall short." And is firm with his decision that no US Debut for BTS.
