On October 22, South Korean actor Park Hae Jin held a free hug event in the southern resort island of Jeju. The event was broadcasted via a live session on Naver's V app, a report from the Kpop Herald stated.

The 33-year-old actor said, "I came to Jeju Island today, and as expected, it is raining here. I had a haircut. I think it is the shortest since my debut. I questioned myself for having had such long hair before. It is very comfortable."

He then asked the cab driver about the time that it takes to drive around Jeju Island. When the driver answered him, the actor expressed his surprise and said, "He says it takes over three hours and 40 minutes. The island is bigger than I thought." The driver added an additional information and told the actor that the island is, in fact, three times the size of Seoul.

Park Hae Jin promised to hold the free hugs event during the inauguration ceremony of his official fan club, CLUB Jin's."

Allkpop previously reported that applications to join Park Hae Jin's fan club opened back in June. Fans from a total of 27 countries including South Korea, Japan, Malaysia, China, Taiwan, Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Singapore, Iran, Mexico, Turkey, Australia, the United Kingdom, and Macau greeted the actor at the ceremony and joyfully spent time with him.

The actor is also known for his gentleness and kind-heartedness. Last month, it was belatedly reported that Park Hae Jin has been donating a total of more than $1 million USD to several non-profit organizations in China and South Korea since 2011.

A representative from Mountain Movement Entertainment, Park's label, said, "Park Hae Jin has been donating money in Korea and China for children from impoverished homes who need medical care. He plans to continue donating money in the future."
