MAMA 2016 line up rumors are already surfacing online with EXO, Red Velvet, I.O.I, WINNER, BLACKPINK, iKON and INFINITE on the lost.

The speculations released last Sept. 23 were denied by SM, JYP and YG Entertainment. Sources told "there is no basis for these statements. Fans can speculate on the lineup online but it's still premature. We have not even started discussions in earnest yet," Soompi cited.

"The rumors appeared to have come from China," the organizer of the awards show CJ E&M said denying the speculations as well. "It appears as if they were posted to a famous Kpop site in China. But both confirmation and discussion is still in its premature stages. We will release the lineup ahead of the event, but not yet," CJ E&M added.

The Mnet Asian Music Awards is an annual awarding ceremony. It was launched in 1999 with its previous name "Mnet Km Music Festival (MKMF)" as the first South Korean music awards event. By the time it celebrated its 10th year anniversary in 2009, the name was changed to "Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA)."

Performances of famous bands and artists of South Korea, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Canada, Japan and United States are anticipated by the public. Winners are selected based on the number of votes of supporters.

Netizens were surprised when Mnet announced that this year's event will be held at similar location and date as last 2015. The 2016 MAMA will be held on Dec. 2 at the World EXPO in Hong Kong, Kpop Map reported.

The show is broadcasted in 13 nations. Mnet Channel airs the ceremony live in South Korea and Japan. Other channels that deliver the show to supporters are STAR World, Channel V, TVN (Asia), Music On! TV (Japan), MediaCorp Channel U (Singapore), 8TV (Malaysia), Indosiar (Indonesia), MY TV (Cambodia), MYX (Philippines), Mnet America (United States), SBS (Australia) and NRK (Norway). Other nations can also catch the show online through websites such as YouTube Live, AllKpop, Vapp and Mnet for South Korea and Sohu for China.
