K-pop Idols Battle For Music Charts Starts on October!

October is the month where K-pop artists compete in the music chart battle locally in South Korea.

A number of K-pop idols, together with rising stars, wait for their turn to release a new album. Singers are also included in the chart battle with a strong power to dominate charts when they present a new album. Some of the singers are Davichi and Park Hyo-shin, and veteran singers like Kim Gun-mo and Lee So-ra. Popular idol groups including Bangtan Boys, SHINee, TWICE, I.O.I also join the chart battle.

On Thursday, the popular ballad singer Park Hyo-shin dominates the music chart with his newly released single entitled "Breath" which is a pre-released track of his seventh album "I am A Dreamer"  which will be released in October. While Davichi, a duo who has always been at the top spot in music charts will release EP "50 X Half" on October 13th.

Ailee and Crush are also part of the heated music chart battle.

Ailee, is popular for her dancing skills and good vocals, will release a new EP titled "A New Empire" on October 5. Meanwhile, Crush will also release a new EP entitled "Wonderlust". SHINee is the first idol groups to release new albums entitled "1 of 1" that will hit the music stores next month.

Next is the rapid-growing boy band Bangtan Boys (BTS) which will release its second full-length album titled "Wings" on October 10th.

I.O.I, a girl group formed through the entertainment show "Produce 101" will release their last EP album on October 17. Their album will serve as a reunion for the group after months of their individual activities.

Twice, who is known for their big hit tracks like "Like Ohh-Ahh" and "Cheer up", is currently working on a new EP which will be also released next month.

South Korea's two of the most popular veteran singers namely Lee So-ra and Kim Gun-mo are also preparing for a new release on October. Lee is working on her ninth full-length album which will be released next month while Kim, who appears on an SBS TV variety show, will be returning to the music scene after five years hiatus but according to Lee's agency, there are no plans yet regarding his album.

The K-pop idols' battle for the music charts is one of the most awaited events in South Korea every year because whoever tops the music chart will surely gain more popularity not only locally but internationally.
