What to expect from new Surface Pro?

Microsoft might use the Windows 10 event on October to introduce Surface Pro 5 to the public.

Although the item will be unveiled this year, Itech Post reported that it will be marketed on March 2017.

The hybrid device is expected to carry high-end specifications including the Intel Kaby Lake processor and Windows 10 operating system. The new processor reportedly improves its battery life. Sources also told that the Surface Pro 5 will increase its performance by 40 percent and will feature a better cooling technology. Also, the processor is expected to transform the old device into a gaming and video streaming gem.

Consumers can choose from 21 inch, 24 inch and 27 inch size of 4K display. Other sources say that there would be two options which include 2K and more expensive 4K model. Its graphics processing units are speculated to come from either Nvidia Pascal or AMD Polaris. The expected screen resolution is 3,840 x 2,560. It has rear and front cameras with 16 megapixel and 8 megapixel, respectively. Its RAM is pretty impressive at 16GB.

It is also speculated that Microsoft will include a stylus pen on the device to improve overall user experience and compete with other models such as Galaxy Note. The stylus pen is rumored to have a rechargeable battery that can charge wirelessly when attached magnetically to the tablet. The existing stylus pen for Surface carries AAAA battery.

CNET added that the new model could potentially carry a USB C port that could complement the collection of the older model boasting a single USB 3.0 port, microSD card slot, mini displayport and audio jack.

It is rumored that the upgrades on the device will make it significantly more expensive than the Surface Pro 4. The older version is sold at $1,300. The older version received negative feedbacks due to its sleep mode and battery life issues.

Surface Pro which sold almost 10 times bigger than older models will hold its first year anniversary soon.
