New Korean Drama ‘The Gentlemen of Wolgyesu Tailor Shop’ Gets Strong Viewership Ratings
The newly aired Korean drama entitled "The Gentlemen of Wolgyesu Tailor Shop" recorded a double-digit viewership rating.
According to Nielsen Korea, an agency that tracks TV show ratings in South Korea, said that the newly released TV series got 30.2 percent viewership rating nationwide while it garnered 27.6 percent viewership rating in Seoul.
The drama's first episode aired last August 27 which recorded a 22.4 percent viewership rating. After the first five episodes were aired, the viewership rating from over 22 percent increased to 30 percent after the release of its sixth episode. The agency said that it's impressive for the TV drama series to get high ratings for a Saturday-Sunday airing schedule.
"The Gentlemen of Wolgyesu Tailor Shop" is a family drama series that revolves around the story of four men who work at Laurel Tree Tailor Shop and have their individual life struggles and trials. It encompasses work, family, love, friendship, and competition within the lives of the characters with a bit of comedy as well.
The drama is directed by Hwang In-Hyuk and starring Cha In-pyo and La Mi-ran, who are the lead characters with their role of a married couple that captures the viewers' interest. The other supporting casts are Lee Dong-Gun and Jo Yoon-Hee.
Currently, the drama is expected to surpass the rating of the drama entitled "Five Enough," which previously aired at the same time slot. It reached 34.6 percent viewership rating and considered as its highest recorded rating.
On the other hand, the dramas that were aired with the same time slot from other networks are; SBS's drama entitled "My Gap-soon" with 6.4 percent viewership rating and MBC's drama entitled "Blow Breeze" with 13.6 percent viewership rating.
Many viewers can relate to the story plot of the drama and they anticipate for more plot twists and surprises for the succeeding episodes. Moreover, "The Gentlemen of Wolgyesu Tailor Shop" airs every Saturday and Sunday, 19:55 KST at KBS2 channel.
