Pop-punk band Simple Plan returns to South Korea with a new album and a concert which will be held on Thursday at 8 in the evening at Seoul's Blue Square Samsung Card Hall.

The Korea Times released some of its email interview with the band members where Chuck Comeau, the band's drummer said, "The last time we came to Korea was for a big festival with a bunch of other bands. It is really cool to come back and do our own headlining show, play in front of our fans, and playing the full show. A lot of fans in Asia are very supportive, but Korean fans really shocked and surprised us."

The band was formed 17 years ago and composed of Comeau on drums, Pierre Bouvier on vocals, Jeff Stinco on lead guitar, Sebastien Lefebvre on rhythm guitar, and David Desrosiers on bass. The band released five songs that include "Taking One for the Team" which was released in February.

Comeau also said that their new album contemplates on the essence of being a band member.

He added, "If you want it to work, you have to sacrifice once in a while. We put the band first before each of us. That has been our rule. This new record is about standing up for yourself and about accepting who you are and not about how other people who might say that you are not good enough. The whole point is 'empowering.' Making you feel confident and feel that you are good enough."

The drummer also added that the band was able to stay together until now because they were friends before they became international stars.

Comeau said that the band would probably play their greatest hits or a "best of" album of their band's old school throwbacks from their previous albums on their concert in Seoul tonight.

Parts of the concert's tickets sales will go to the Simple Plan Foundation that the band members established in 2005. The foundation aims to help teen problems, from suicide and poverty to drug addiction.

Comeau concluded, "Our philosophy has been about being honest and making music that is heartfelt and genuine. Do something we love and do it for the right reason. Write songs that move you. You want to be moved by your own music."
