'Korea Sale Festa' to Open With K-Pop Concert Featuring SHINee, Sistar, and 2PM
The biggest shopping festival in South Korea known as "Korea Sale Festa" will have its opening ceremony in Seoul next month.
According to the trade ministry, the event will include exhibitions and various K-pop concerts to attract more customers and visitors abroad.
The event will be held from Sept. 30 to Oct. 3 at Yeongdong Daero (Boulevard) in southern Seoul. It will also mark the kick off of the nationwide festival that runs in Oct. 31 according to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
The opening ceremony will include various events with six themes namely K-Beauty, K-Fashion, K-Brand, K-Tour, and K-Culture which will offer bargain sale events, make-up shows and tutorials, food sampling event, tourism showcases from foreign and domestic customers, and Korean traditional performances.
The detailed list of performers who will participate in the event will be revealed on the official website by mid-September. Moreover, confirmed K-pop stars like SHINee, Sistar, and 2PM will open the festival which will be broadcast live in the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS).
Local retailers and manufacturers in the field like cosmetics, home appliances, food and clothing will also participate in the shopping sections to give the bargain sale details.
The "Korea Sale Festa" has been organized by the Korean government in order to raise domestic consumption and attract more foreign customers and shoppers.
The festival was rebranded from the previous year's "Korea Black Friday" which helped in boosting the domestic demand and rising up South Korea's economy.
