Information for Customers

Amazon, the world's largest online retailer, recently launched "Amazon Vehicles" not to sell cars, but instead to help customers get all the relevant information they need before they purchase a car.

"Amazon Vehicles" provides shoppers with reviews and customer feedback on thousands of cars from different brands and from different years of production. They can also see the car in different colors and view it from multiple angles. The car's specifications and price are provided too.

According to a report in Techobuffalo, the "cars are organized by body style, brand, year, miles per gallon, transmission type, seating capacity, fuel type, crash rating and more."

Garage Section

Amazon went the extra mile providing customers with a "Garage Section" which allows them to message car owners who posses vehicles that have the same brand and model as the one own. Amazon hopes that the Garage Section will assist them to quickly find car parts and accessories.

The layout of "Amazon Vehicles" is not different from the usual look of Amazon, the only difference is that customers cannot buy the cars they are researching. Although, car related accessories can be purchased in the site.

The media is speculating whether this is Amazon's subtle way of getting into the car business, but Amazon so far has not given any confirmation about the matter.
