‘Fallout 4: Nuka-World’ DLC File Size Revealed Ahead Of Release Date Later This Month, Bigger Than ‘Far Harbor’
Some new details about the final and upcoming downloadable content for Bethesda Softworks' acclaimed first person role playing video game "Fallout 4" has surfaced, revealing that the size of the patch for "Nuka-World" will be substantially bigger than the last major storyline addon, "Far Harbor."
Gaming Bolt first reported the news, citing a new entry in the Steam database. Perusing the updated list of components for "Fallout 4" on the site will inform fans that the next major storyline add on for the game will be a whopping 3.66 GB, almost a full gigabyte larger than "Far Harbor" which only required about 2.69 GB of free space on a machine's hard drive.
Interestingly though, the language patches for "Nuka-World" is actually smaller in comparison to the ones for "Far Harbor." Almost all of the language files for the next DLC sit at a little under 360 MB, compared to the ones for the previous major add with almost each one sitting at a good 570 MB or so.
While it is hard to tell specifically what the difference in file sizes mean, it should be noted that a larger space requirement does not necessarily mean more content as the publication mentioned. A few extra hundred megabytes or a full gig or so can sometimes just translate to added textures, or other changes that are not immediately apparent.
"Nuka-World" is set to be the sixth and final in the development cycle for "Fallotu 4" post-release content. It will also be the second major add on for the game that will add a new campaign, aside from some other minor updates.
Just like the previous campaign DLC, "Far Harbor," "Nuka-World" will introduce the Sole Survivor to another locale in the post-apocalyptic Commonwealth. Whereas "Far Harbor" brought players to the titular bay and placed them in the middle of the town's power struggles, "Nuka-World" is set in an old amusement park patterned after the iconic in-game beverages.
The setup for the eponymous location is that it is a facility run entirely by robots, indicating that the DLC will keep with the game's central theme regarding synthetic life. In the time since the missiles fell, Nuka World has come under siege by a band of bandits called The Road Mongers. The bandit clan has been raiding the amusement park, causing trouble for its inhabitants to the point that they now require the assistance of the Sole Survivor. It is up to the players how they will deal with this issue; deciding whether to help defend the park or takeover The Road Mongers and lead them against Nuka World.
The DLC is slated to release sometime later this month.
