Former Miss Korea Returns To Showbiz After 16-Year Hiatus
Former Miss Korea, Jang Yoon-jeong, is making a return to the spotlight after a 16-year hiatus. Jang can be seen in "Trick," a suspense drama.
Jang became a household name in 1987 when she won the Miss Korea beauty pageant. She also earned the title as the first runner-up for Miss Universe in 1988. Jang is no stranger to showbiz. The beauty queen was a TV show host in the 1990s. But later moved to the U.S. and raised a family away from the spotlight.
"When I look at myself objectively, I had nothing but the Miss Korea title. It's a big title, but it locked me in at the same time," said Jang. "I decided to act to express myself more comfortably."
"I didn't expect to take on a major role at all since it's my movie debut," Jang added. "So I felt a lot of pressure and was nervous throughout the shoot."
"Trick" was released in local theaters in Korea last week. The film tells the story of a film producer who desires to film the story of a dying man and his wife.
