Benjamin McKenzie of 'Gotham' attends New York Comic Con 2015 - Day 4 at The Jacob K. Javits Convention Center on October 11, 2015 in New York City.

The recently concluded New York Comic Con 2015 featured some of the hottest superhero TV series, with some of the highlights compiled by Mediaweek. Convention-goers packed venues of the panels for "Daredevil," "Gotham," "Supergirl," and "Jessica Jones." The panelists for these shows did not disappoint; they revealed interesting tidbits about the coming season.

Present for the "Daredevil" panel are the new cast additions, Elodie Yung and Jon Bernthal, set to play Elektra and the Punisher, respectively. The characters were added by the showrunners to make it darker and grittier, according to The Hollywood Reporter. These new characters will let viewers see more about Matt Murdock/Daredevil's relationship with anti-hero types like the Punisher. It will expose how he deals with characters whose sense of justice is borderline criminal.

The panel for Daredevil also teased about another upcoming Netflix series, "Jessica Jones." It was revealed that the TV series flipped the gender of an important supporting character, Jeryn Hogarth. It will be played by "The Matrix" alum, Carrie-Anne Moss. It was also revealed that David Tennant of "Doctor Who" would play the main villain, Killgrave.

The panel for "Gotham" had a very significant revelation for one the main villains, the Penguin. Paul Reubens, also known as Pee-wee Herman, will play a recurring role as the series' Penguin's father, according to Entertainment Weekly. Reubens originally played the Penguin role for the movie "Batman Returns," 23 years ago. A new police boss will also be introduced, Captain Nathaniel Barnes. He will serve as a mentor to the protagonist Ben Gordon, who has somehow found himself aligned with the wrong people at the end of the last season.

The panel for "Supergirl" revealed another villain set to appear this season: Toyman. The toy-obsessed criminal who uses toy-themed devices in his crimes is the latest addition to an impressive stable of supervillains for the show. He joins Reactron, Red Tornado, and Livewire as the bad guys who will torment Melissa Benoist's Kara Danvers/Supergirl.
