South Korean Singer And Actor Rain Signs With His Own Entertainment Agency Rain Company
Jung Ji Hoon, also known as Rain, founded his own entertainment agency called Rain Company. The new entertainment agency announced on Sunday that the South Korean singer-actor officially signs with Rain Company on October 1.
Soompi noted on the same day that Rain Company will have Rain as the center as of the moment. In addition, the new company is said to have a music and records department which is spearheaded by Kim Yong Bae. Aside from that, Rain Company also has a US department and a Chinese department.
Further reports revealed that Rain Company aims to look for and sign up talented young artists in the future.
"We formed a dream team of multi-entertainment, by recruiting the best from each area of the entertainment industry," Rain said. "We adapted the agency system of the United States, and we hope to manage actors and singers."
Korea Herald reported on Sunday that the company will have different teams which will handle singers and actors, as well as the Chinese affairs. On the other hand, William Morrris Endeavor Entertainment will be in-charge for the US affairs.
Meanwhile, Rain started in the industry at a young age. He was 16 years old when he made his debut as a member of a band called Fanclub. In 2002, Rain debuted as a solo artist on the launching of his first album entitled "Bad Guy."
A year after that, Rain appeared in a South Korean drama "Sang Doo! Let's Go To School," and from that, the South Korean singer-actor took the spotlight and became popular.
33-year-old Rain released six Korean albums and one Japanese album. He has also appeared in a number of Korean drama series including "Full House," "A Love to Kill" and "My Lovely Girl."
Rain also starred in films such as "Speed Racer," "Ninja Assassin" and "For Love or Money."
In addition, the South Korean singer-actor was awarded as the Most Powerful Korean Artist during the 19th China Music Award last April.
