Is Nate Diaz Conceding Fight With Conor McGregor In UFC 196? Believes He'll Get K.O. Next After Aldo?
Conor McGregor's next fight in UFC took an unlikely turn last week after Rafael Dos Anjos backed out because of injury.
He is replaced by Nate Diaz who previously slammed the Notorious in an explicit rant.
Diaz once stated his willingness to take over. However, in his latest statement, fans think he is not too confident about his chances against the Irish fighter.
"I think you should beat everybody on your worst day, but you can never be ready enough for a fight anyway," Diaz said in a video from TMZ when asked about a fight with Conor McGregor. "Might get murked. Don't care, though. It's all good. Or he might."
It is easy to understand where Diaz is coming from for choosing to be Conor McGregor's next fight. The latter got months to prepare himself physically while the American only got little to none. However, to be fair with Notorious, his game plan has to be changed, too, due to the fact that Dos Anjos and Diaz fight differently.
Diaz, who lost to Dos Anjos in December 2014, is not thinking McGregor is also at a disadvantage because the latter has already prepared for him a long time ago.
"There's no other way," he said. "It's no McGregor show. It's a fight that needed to happen. I'm the biggest fight. They knew they were fighting me already. They were already training for me. They knew what's up. But hey, don't trip. Maybe I'll plot back. They were plotting on me, I might have been plotting back too. You never know."
Before the Conor McGregor - Nate Diaz fight was settled, the two already engaged in verbal war.
Diaz called out McGregor after the latter's sensational victory over Jose Aldo saying he stole everything he worked for. In a subtle response, McGregor said everyone who calls him out will have to beg.
This is Conor McGregor's first fight since Jose Aldo in November.
He is aiming to win multiple titles in different weight classes. Nate Diaz also recently recorded a victory against Michael Johnson, one year after his loss to RDA.
Conor McGregor - Nate Diaz fight is on March 5.
