'Gotham' Season 2 Spoilers: Is Supervillain Team Coming? What's Is Hugo Strange's Relation To Penguin?
Watch out for "Gotham" season 2 spoilers below.
"Gotham" season 2 return saw the arrival of two new villains, Mr. Freeze and Hugo Strange.
The mid-season premiere was spent more exploring the origin of the ice gun-wielding character. Still that does not mean people should sleep on the Hugo Strange. In fact, he will have a run in with one of his patients - Oswald Cobblepot (Robin Lord Taylor).
Strange, played by B.D. Wong, is the head of Arkham Asylum where the man who will be known as The Penguin was admitted after saying he is insane.
Taylor teased his character will undergo major challenges in future "Gotham" season 2 episodes.
"Any time you always want to play opposites, after the first season as the king of Gotham and then managing that through the first half of the season, it was actually kind of great to basically have the rug pulled out from under the character and end up at the bottom of the bottom," Taylor told E! Online. "As you'll see as we go on...he goes through one of the most horrifying experiences of his life and it's really fun to play."
What does Hugo Strange has to do with this? Earlier "Gotham" season 2 spoilers said Strange is up for a multi-episode arc and this will be spent more on establishing his connection to Cobblepot and what role he will play when it comes to the latter's growth.
Taylor said the doctor will spend a lot of time on his character while he is in Arkham Asylum.
"I can say that I believe Strange has the best of intentions with Oswald, even though they're from his own very warped perspective," he added. "And I can also say that it doesn't, even though they are the best intentions, it's probably one of the worst things you can do to a person."
The next "Gotham" season 2 episode is called "A Dead Man Feels No Cold" and according to synopsis/spoilers, it will feature a meeting between Dr. Hugo Strange and the Penguin. This will air on March 7.
