‘American Music Awards’ 2015 Host Confirmed As Jennifer Lopez Announces On Twitter!
The 2015 American Music Awards is set to air live in Nov. 22, at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, says CBS News. The annual ABC event will be hosted by Jennifer Lopez, her first time hosting an awards show.
This year's AMA's will be hosted by a Latin artist for the third straight year, with Pitbull having hosted the previous two. Jennifer Lopez took to Twitter to announce her hosting gig, expressing her delight about hosting the 2015 AMA's 15 years after her first nomination, according to Dailymail UK.
Even though this is the first awards show-hosting gig for J. Lo, she is no stranger to the AMA's. She has won three of these before, and has been nominated for seven awards. If winning or getting nominated was not enough, Jennifer Lopez has wowed viewers with her performance before. In last year's AMA's, she performed with Australian rapper Iggy Azalea.
J. Lo will also perform live this year, showcasing her act for a recently inked Las Vegas show entitled "All I Have." Her Vegas residency will premiere in January next year, at the AXIS Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino, as reported by NBC News. Her act promises a mix of fan favorites, from pop to R&B.
This is a big turn-around for J. Lo and the AMA's, after a controversial Spanish-language performance, alongside Pitbull's Spanish-filled speeches when he hosted back in 2013.
Taking over the announcing duties this year are singers Joe Jonas and Charlie Puth. These young hunks are expected to dazzle the crowd with their charm and a bit of humor, a trend with celebrity announcers in recent award shows.
American Music Awards 2015 nominees will be announced on Oct. 13, chosen based on radio airplay, album sales, tours, and social media. Awards will be fan-voted, recognizing different artists from five categories: Adult, Country, Latin, Pop/Rock, and Rap/Hip-hop.
