Maisie Williams In 'The Last Of Us' Still Unclear; Movie Adaptation Different From The Game?

The movie adaptation of Naughty Dog's PS3 title "The Last of Us" is creating noise from its fans as rumors claimed that the "Game of Thrones" star Maisie Williams will be playing their favorite character in the game named Ellie.

Although followers of Williams were reported to be expecting that their idol will be one of the protagonists in the anticipated film, speculations declared that everything isn't final yet for the movie.

While creators of the "The Last of Us" movie are still working on choosing the right cast in pulling off the film adaptation, Coming Soon reported that Maisie Williams has been very vocal about her interaction with the movie masterminds and her willingness in having the Ellie character.

"I had a lunch a little while ago and we spoke about the possibility of me playing Ellie and that's really exciting and I would absolutely love to," Williams said.

"Honestly I would love to and I think they would love me to play Ellie also, and that's where it is at the moment. There's no script, no director, it's still very early days for the whole project, but if it all goes ahead soon enough I think, yeah, I would love to," she added.

Meanwhile, creative director of "The Last of Us" game Neil Druckmann is reported to be making the film somehow different from the game.

"There are some big changes, but the tone and what the story's trying to say is pretty faithful to the game," Druckmann told Game Informer, as noted by BitBag.

The scriptwriter also shared some details about the anticipated movie adaptation to IGN: "As far as where we go and how we make it fit into a film, how it takes into account the unique properties of film... We're not sure yet. We're only just scratching the surface."

As of now, the people behind the upcoming movie "The Last of Us" are not declaring yet if either Maisie Williams will play as Ellie or the film adaptation will be sticking on the game plot.
