'God Of War' 4 Release Date, Update, & More: Modern Day Setting Teased?
No words yet on "God of War 4" release date but speculations of what it would look like are all over the internet.
The fourth installment of the Playstation flagship game is yet to be announced but there are reports that "God of War 4" will be set in modern day.
What Culture said this concept is promising.
"For anyone who didn't beat the game on Spartan difficulty (or has never stumbled upon the ending on YouTube), it depicted a band of explorers discovering Pandora's Temple thousands of years later and speaks of myths being awakened and new heroes rising," the publication wrote.
"Was this a red herring, an idea that was scrapped somewhere along the line, or the setup for God of War 4? Although the latter seems unlikely considering the sequence dates back ten years, the concept of a modern day sequel is an idea with potential."
Crossmap reported that "God of War 4" is in the works but its release date was not confirmed.
The third of the series, "God of War III Remastered", was released July last year and featured full 1080p support targeted at 60 frames per second. It also has a photo mode which let players edit their photos and share their favorite moments while playing it. The remastered version was a hit as it was ninth in sales in the UK in just one week since its release. For the whole month of July, the downloadable version finished as seventh best-selling PlayStation 4 title in PlayStation Store.
Another speculation concerning "God of War 4" is Kratos, the main character of the series. With the way GoW3 ended, some are skeptical they will be able to see Kratos again. Movie Pilot said that might not be the case as the game series has always been known for pulling surprises. The remastered was great and do not be shocked if the studio behind comes up with a better gimmick.
